Doody made ‘difficult decision’ to move on from FCBS six months ago
PRP has appointed former Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios senior partner Simon Doody as the new director of its Manchester studio.
Doody will lead the firm’s Manchester office alongside Alistair Weir and partner Craig Sheach, overseeing the design and delivery of projects in the North-west region.
Doody spent 22 years at FCBS, leading the studio’s higher education sector and driving international business initiatives across Asia, North America and Africa.
He also directed a number of major projects for Manchester Metropolitan University including the Business School and Student Hub, Students’ Union, the SODA building, the library refurbishment and the re-working of the grade II-listed Ormond Building.
In February, Doody said on LinkedIn he had made the “difficult decision to move on” from FCBS in order to “challenge [himself] with a different path”.
He said at the time he was embarking on a sabbatical so he could “scratch a few creative itches before stepping into a new role where I can have a change in tack and continue to meet the expectations I place on myself”.
Commenting on his appointment at PRP, Sheach said Doody’s arrival marked a “pivotal next step” for the studio that would enable it to strengthen its presence in the North-west.
“Simon’s expertise, creativity and passion will help us serve our clients better along with strengthening design quality and office culture, shaping a vibrant future for our growing Manchester studio,” Sheach said.
Doody added: “In a city that continues to thrive, this is an incredible opportunity to be part of PRP as they move forward to grow their Manchester portfolio.
