Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands has been given planning for a new office scheme close to the new Museum of London in Farringdon.

The 55,000sq ft scheme has been designed for developer Helical and Places for London, Transport for London’s developments business.

The proposal will see the 19th century façade on the existing building at 63 Charterhouse Street retained and a roof terrace added.

In a trading update this morning, Helical said: “The joint venture has agreed heads of terms to acquire the site which will take place upon signing the s106 Agreement, when the consent will be implementable.”

The firm said it was “well positioned to take advantage of the strong rental growth being driven by a market with very tight supply”.

Helical is also working with Places for London on Mace’s Paddington office scheme while Mace is also set to build student accommodation above Southwark station with enabling works slated to start soon.

Helical is due to announce its 2025 results on 21 May.
