Name changed to reflect firm’s parent company Tyréns Group

AKT II’s new headquarters at Norton Folgate in Spitalfields

AKT II has rebranded as Tyréns AKT in recognition of its longstanding relationship with its parent company Tyréns Group.

The engineering consultancy said the name-change marks the next chapter in its “evolution as part of a broader international network of engineers, designers and specialists”.

The rebrand also comes as the firm celebrates its 30-year anniversary and moves into new headquarters at Norton Folgate, a British Land office scheme in Spitalfields designed by AHMM, Stanton Williams, Morris + Company and DSDHA.   

Tyréns AKT has been part of Tyréns Group since 2011, with the latter saying the move reflects its ambitions for international growth and further expansion in existing markets.

Tyréns Group chief executive Åsa Holmberg said the rebrand of AKT II “reflects the direction we have been moving in as a group to bring our businesses closer together.” 

“As the needs of clients and projects continue to evolve, from climate change and infrastructure investment to urbanisation and technical complexity, we believe more connected expertise will be increasingly important. This change will help our teams, partners and clients benefit from the wider knowledge, innovation and international experience across the Group,” she added. #

Founded in Sweden in 1942, Tyréns has turnover of around £250m with 3,000 employees and is active in Sweden, Lithuania, Poland, Estonia, Canada, Denmark and the UK.

In the UK market, Tyréns acquired interdisciplinary consultant, engineer and advisor Hilson Moran in 2017, which has also changed its name to Tyréns Hilson Moran.
