Applications close at the end of June

The British School at Rome has received match funding for a new architecture scholarship for qualified architects.
Applications for the Rick Mather Rome Fellowship in Architecture, named in honour of the late architect Rick Mather, close at the end of June.
The three-month fellowship is intended for qualified architects whose work includes a focus non sustainability, conservation and the dialogue between historical and contemporary architectural approaches, the school (BSR) said.
It includes accommodation and board at the BSR for the full duration of the residency, shared meals with other architects and scholars working at the school, a monthly research grant of £1,000 and on-site Italian language lessons.
Fellows will also be given 24/7 access to the BSR library and research facilities and opportunities to present and exhibit work through the school’s Open Studios programme.
Applicants must be UK or Commonwealth nationals, or have been working or studying in the UK for at least three years before the application deadline on 30 June 2026.
The fellowship runs from January to March 2027.
