New bosses at firm’s transport and defence businesses
Aecom has made its second major appointment at its UK and Europe business in as many weeks with the arrival of a new managing director for its transportation division.
Steve Higham arrives from French-owned Systra, where he was managing director of the firm’s UK and Ireland engineering business. His brief at Aecom will also include India.
Aecom’s chief executive for Europe and India Richard Whitehead said: “[Higham’s] deep expertise in delivering large-scale transport projects and building trusted client relationships will be instrumental as we continue to grow our transportation business.”
Last week, announced it had brought in Turner & Townsend’s global defence lead to head up its defence business in the UK and Europe,
A former British army officer, Ed Robinson spent nine years at T&T building up the firm’s defence business in the UK, North America and Australia.
Systra has moved to plug the gap left by Higham, promoting Jonathan Scott, who joined three years ago, to managing director for engineering.
The firm is best known in the UK for working on the HS2 railway in the Midlands and at Old Oak Common.
